What makes you feel alive?

There’s a beautiful conversation between one of my favorite poets, David Whyte, and Benedictine monk, brother David Steindl-Rast. David Whyte shares that he is absolutely exhausted. And brother David responds,

“The antidote to exhaustion is not necessarily rest. The antidote to exhaustion, is wholeheartedness.”

I LOVE THIS!!! So often, the self-care messaging we receive is rest, rest, rest!!! We are always being told that we are doing too much, too many things, cramming too much in. But that’s just not nuanced enough! Instead, we should be asking ourselves what brings us alive and, what doesn’t.

Instead of slashing your to-do list, take a deeper look at it.

What feels like a should and what makes your heart sing?

I guarantee there are a few shoulds you can let go of to make more space for what makes your heart sing.

The main takeaway, is that when you do something wholeheartedly, it enlivens you.

From an energy standpoint, it nourishes you, it produces energy. And when what you are doing is tangled up in resistance, frustration or resentment it depletes you.

Dealing with exhaustion and fatigue requires 2 things:

  1. An authentic exploration of what’s on your plate - what to keep, what to let go of and what you’ve been doing half-heartedly that you could actually bring wholeheartedness to.

  2. Somatic practices that support your energy body so that you can cultivate more prana. It’s a reciprocal relationship - prana supports wholeheartedness and wholeheartedness supports prana!

Shall we do this together? In my two upcoming offerings, we’ll make space for both reflection and somatic practice so that we can feel more engaged, energized and ALIVE!!!

Let's do it together! Sign up for both and take 10% off!

Summer is coming. It's a season full of tending, growing, and harvesting.

Expectations for "doing" can be high. And that requires energy.

Together we'll explore ways to restore our energy, not by bullying ourselves into doing one more thing but by dropping into the center - the place where our prana is sourced - and building from there.
